"I am currently drawing and painting with mixed media on various substrates. My work is process-driven and intuitive. It represents, in a non-representational way, what I am both consciously and subconsciously experiencing through my body/mind. These expressions may vary from quick, immediate outpourings of mark and colour to more densely layered images which represent an accumulation and layering of time and experience. My experience is inextricably connected to the context in which I am located, be it a structured or less structured combination of sound, movement, smell, temperature and the physical space that contains me or in which I orientate myself" - Aspeling.
